Horses have been my life for as far back as
I can remember. My Mom bought me my first horse and footed the bills
for me to show hunters throughout college. After graduation, I purchased
a horse myself and quickly realized these things are expensive!
I needed to find a way to have my horse pay it's own way.
My introduction to Thoroughbred racing began as an exercise rider.
I wasn't very good at that, so I went on to be a hotwalker and a
groom. After about four years we decided to claim a horse with the
$2500 we got back from our income taxes. Her name was Miss Bucksville.
She actually won three races in a row for me, what an introduction!
I owe Missy a debt of gratitude that could never be repaid.
Besides a big box of ribbons, the other thing that I got out of
my years of showing is my philosophy of horse care. Nothing is too
good for my horses. When a horse enters my operation it is mine
regardless of who actually owns it. I promise him that he will be
well cared for, will never be asked to run when he is sore, and
will get lots of turnout breaks.
I provide the best nutrition available and use a variety of supplements.
I use veterinarians who specialize in both the traditional and alternative
fields of medicine. With this combination there is no need to inject
their joints or pump them up with steroids. Your horse can get the
star treatment too. Feel free to contact us for more information
on becoming part of a winning team. Your horses will thank you for
it. |
